The Vehicle
Management Centre offers bi-directional messaging
between the vehicles and workstation PCs. This will
reduce the need for voice communication between the
drivers and system operators giving the benefit of
reduced cost and greater message accuracy. This can
be used to provide the driver with details of new
jobs, customer details and re-routing information
where necessary.
Panic
Button
There are two
versions of Panic Button, vehicle mounted and
wireless.
The vehicle
mounted version can be installed in the cab so that
if the driver is in an emergency situation and
requires assistance he can press it. Once pressed an
alarm signal will be sent to a workstation PC with
details of the alarm and the location of the vehicle
so assistance can be quickly provided to the driver.
The wireless
Panic Button is carried by lone workers and can be
used up to 1Km (line of sight) from the vehicle. If
a lone worker gets into difficulty, she/he can press
the Panic Button and an alarm signal will be sent to
a workstation PC with details of the alarm and the
location of the vehicle, thus enabling assistance to
be quickly provided to the driver.

Road Temperature
Sensor
The Vehicle
Management Centre can provide a vehicle mounted
infra-red temperature sensor that is capable of
measuring road surface temperature – an important
feature when considering winter road surface
treatments.
Coupled with the
tracking capabilities of the Vehicle Management
Centre, the road temperature sensor will assist in
compliance with the road treatment requirements.
